Mount Merapi in Indonesia erupted

Mount Merapi erupted this afternoon. To help the refugees, PMI Magelang, Boyolali, and Klaten in Central Java to help the evacuation of the citizens toward a relatively safe location.

In Magelang, Magelang District Red Cross to help the evacuation of refugees from the village of Kaliurang 2491 to be placed in refugee camps in Jumoyo Field and Village Hall in District Jumoyo Salam.

In this refugee camps, the volunteers opened the soup kitchen services, water and emergency sanitation, health services, engage in psychological support, and distribution of aid to refugees.

Assistance to the refugees are also being prepared PMI Magelang regency.

"Until now we have received 25 family tents, masks fruit 3120, 750 blankets and 40 plastic mats. This assistance will be distributed to the refugees soon after we get the assessment results in the field today, "said Arief Setyohadi, PMI staff Magelang regency.

About 70 Red Cross volunteers are on alert. Apart from the PMI Magelang regency, the volunteers also come from Wonosobo regency and PMI PMI County Waterford. Meanwhile, the evacuation of residents in Klaten have been established. PMI Klaten Regency assist the evacuation process in the region KRB 3 Mount Merapi which consists of three post evacuation of three villages. Post evacuation Bawukan accommodate about 1780 refugees from the village of Balerante. Post evacuation Keputran accommodate refugees from the village and Kendalsari Sidorejo total around 2660.
