History of cilacap city

Age of the Kingdom of Java

Search history era began since the era of Javanese kingdom of Mataram Hindu Kingdom to the Kingdom of Surakarta. At the end of the Majapahit Kingdom era (1294-1478) the forerunner of Cilacap district is divided into regions of the Majapahit Kingdom, Duke and the Kingdom of Sand Luhur Pakuan Pajajaran, whose territory stretches from east to west:

- Region Ki Gede's father and the Ki Ageng Donan under the authority of the Kingdom of Majapahit.

- County Royal Nusakambangan and regions Duke Sand Luhur

- Region Pakuan Pajajaran Kingdom.

According to Husein Djayadiningrat, Pakuan Pajajaran Hindu kingdom after being attacked by Islamic job offerings and Cirebon fell in 1579, so that the eastern part of the Kingdom of Pakuan Pajajaran handed over to the Kingdom of Cirebon. Therefore, the entire region forerunner of Cilacap district on the east side under the rule of the Islamic Empire and the west Pajang handed over to the Kingdom of Cirebon.

Kingdom Pajang replaced with the Islamic Mataram Kingdom which was founded by Panembahan Senopatipada year 1587-1755, the precursor region Cilacap District which was originally under the rule of the Islamic Empire Pajang submitted to the kingdom of Mataram.

In 1595 the Kingdom of Mataram constructed to County Galuh residing in the territory of the Kingdom of Cirebon.

According to the diary entry Dutch Company in Fort Batavia, dated February 21, 1682 received a letter containing a translation of the Citarum road trip, north of Karachi to Bagelen. The names of the regions through which the forerunner of Cilacap district is Dayeuhluhur and Limbangan.

2. Dutch colonization era

Formation Onder Afdeling Cilacap (two months after the resident on duty Launy) with besluit Governor-General D. De Erens dated July 17, 1839 Number 1, decides:

"In the interest of local government implementation of a more tidy in the southern region and increasing development pe Banyumas, abuhan Cilacap, the organization's pending proposal southern districts which will be part of, one of three Assistant Resident in this residency will be based in Cilacap".

Because the area of South Banyumas considered too broad to be maintained by the Regent and Regent Purwokerto Banyumas then with Besluit dated June 27, 1841 No. 10 stipulated: "Patenschap" Dayeuhluhur separated from Banyumas and made a separate department namely: section Cilacap Cilacap to the capital city, which became locus chief European Bestuur Bestuur Assistant Resident and Chief Native Rangga or Onder Regent. Thus the Government of the Natives called Onder Regentschap commensurate with the Regional Head Patih Dayeuhluhur.

However the establishment of department meet the wishes of Purwokerto and Banyumas Regent who had long wanted to reduce the area of power each with Patenschap Dayeuhluhur and Adiraja District.

The District boundary Adiraja which together form the Onder Regentschap Dayeuhluhur pattenschap Cilacap according to a plan Resident Banyumas De Sturier dated March 31, 1831 are as follows:

From Serayu River estuary upstream toward the midpoint of the height of Mount Prenteng. From there to the summit, down to the southeast mountains Kendeng, to the summit of Mount Gumelem (Igir mourn). from there to the south following the boundary area of residency of Banyumas towards the sea. From there towards the west along the coast toward the mouth of the River Serayu. from Adiraja District boundaries can be seen that the District Adiraja as a forerunner of the ex Kawedanan Kroja greater than the former. Kawedanan Kroya, since that time there have been no Kalireja District, which is formed from sub-section Adiraja District and as District Banyumas. So Onder Regentschap Cilacap area is still larger than the area of Cilacap district now.

During the 9th Banyumas resident Van de Moore proposed the Dutch East Indies government on October 3, 1855 signed by the Governor-General Duijmaer Van Tuist, to the Minister of the Royal Dutch Colonial in Sreserpt Cabinet on December 29, 1855 No. 86, and a secret letter of the Minister of Colonial date January 5, 1856 No. 7 / A submitted to the Governor-General of the Dutch East Indies. Cilacap district formation proposal by the Minister of Colonial meaningful application for approval of the formation of two of Cilacap Regency and bestir indigenous organizations and the expenditure budget of more than F.5.220 per year which both require the approval of the King of the Netherlands, after receiving a confidential letter of the Minister of Colonial Government of the Netherlands East Indies with besluit Governor-General dated March 21, 1856 No. 21 among others, determined Onder Regentschap Cilacap increased to Regentschap (Cilacap District) .*
